ShapeTalk Terms of Use Before we are able to offer you (“You” or “Researcher”) access to the dataset, You must agree to the following terms of use. After approval by the Authors (defined below), you will receive access and permission to use the ShapeTalk dataset (the "Dataset") curated at Stanford University (the "University”) and Snap Inc. (the “Company”) (the University and Company, collectively, the “Authors”). In exchange for being given access and permission to use the Dataset, the Researcher hereby agrees to the following terms and conditions: 1. The Researcher shall use the Dataset only for non-commercial research and educational purposes. For clarity, use of the Dataset for purposes related to research or product development at a for-profit enterprise or entity is not a permitted use of the Dataset. 2. The Dataset is provided “as-is” and without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of non-infringement or fitness for a particular purpose. 3. Researcher accepts full responsibility for his or her use of the Dataset and shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Authors, including their employees, affiliates, trustees, officers, and agents, against any and all claims arising from Researcher's access to and use of the Dataset, including Researcher's use of any copies of copyrighted 3D CAD models, or derivatives of those, such as 2D rendered views of them, extracted pointclouds etc., originally uploaded to https://shapenet.org/, https://modelnet.cs.princeton.edu/, or https://partnet.cs.stanford.edu/, that the Researcher may use in connection with the Dataset. 4. Researcher may provide research associates and colleagues within the same organization with access to the Dataset provided that those research associates and colleagues first agree in writing to be bound by these terms and conditions. 5. The Authors reserve the right to terminate Researcher's access to, and use of, the Dataset at any time. 6. If Researcher is employed by a for-profit, commercial entity, Researcher's employer shall also be bound by these terms and conditions, and Researcher hereby represents that he or she is fully authorized to enter into this agreement on behalf of such employer. 7. All disputes arising under this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes related to or arising from this Agreement will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in either Santa Clara County or Los Angeles County, State of California. You consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts. 8. Authors reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions from time to time without notice.
